Who do u think makes the best boards? Hyperlite, LiquidForce, Ronix, CWB, Gator Boards, Byerly, Slingshot, etc. For me im gonna have to go with Ronix, I just rode my new Vault and totaly loved it. i was riding better than i ever did on my other boards.
I used to ride the LF Balance 142, but I picked up a Ronix One board this year. I dig the board, but it really needs to be ridden aggressively. There is no halfway with the One. Last weekend I rode the Ronix Covin 142 and now I don't want to ride anything else. The Covin is effortless, I'm sold. Anyone want to buy at One? JK...
I still dig my old LF Balance, and park's Hyperlite from last year. I'll have to give Krown a shot one of these days. I just have not been around them much. I've heard some good things about Slingshot, but same deal - I can't say first hand.
I got back on the One this week, and I liked it more than before - but I think the Covin is the board for me. At least for right now.
Ok a little off the board topic but about some bindings? I used to ride in some liquid force bindings( dont remember what theyr called) but they wer the worst, id always come off the water with blisters on my heels. @ first i tought they were too small so i got some bigger ones, and they still gave me blisters. Then i got my new ronix gear and had cabal bindings. I loved them and thought they were the best. They got to small so my dad ordered some new ones and in the mean time, ive been ridings Dan D's old LF Transit bindings( yes it is weird that he has the same size of feet of me and im tiny for my age) but im totally in love with the transits. Theyr soo much stiffer than the cabals and theyr a lot taller and makes it soo much easier to cut out toeside. Also nailed my 180s a lot better w/ transits. i havnt rode anything else but ronix and double up and ronix is a lot better than doubleup but idk...im starting to question ronix's "greatness"...
Though I've heard it was not overly popular, I absolutely LOVE my Hyperlite Drive 134. Tried an Obrien Alta which was ok, but coming from my extensive snowboard background, I completely hated the center fins. The looser feel without a center fin is my preference.
The HL Drive has suited my riding style very well. I was borrowing LF and the Obrien boards, then demo'd the HL Drive and fell in love with it almost immediately. Something I have observed, but don't the specific specs - the design (at least at a glance) of the Ronix One and HL Drive look so very similar. I really can't fairly compare too many wakeboards since I have not ridden very many. The Hyperlite 3DS is a board I want to demo/try and see how I like.
I think my next investment will be better bindings. I have HL Spin mini's which were the cheapest but most comfortable fitting for the dollar.
I would have to say the Ronix IBEX. Hands down. Supper light, great pop from the aggressive rocker, without the huge step down rail on the 2006 Hyperlite Parks board. Way more user freindly.
I've gotta say, I'm a big IBEX fan too now... it rides right in between the One and the Covin which I ride now. I've only ridden the 139 so far - curious to see what it's like on the 142.
